Filter Cleaning

Thorough cartridge and DE filter cleanings that keep water moving, keep it clear, and keep the pump from straining.

A clogged filter makes the whole pool work harder

The filter is where every bit of debris, sunscreen film and dust that blows across a West Valley yard ends up. As it fills, the pressure on the gauge climbs and the flow back to the pool drops. The water starts to look dull, then cloudy, and the pump runs harder to push through a screen that has less and less open surface.

Most owners never see this happen. The pool still looks fine from the patio for a while, which is exactly why a filter gets ignored until the water turns on you. Clark checks the equipment pad on every weekly visit in Litchfield Park and the towns around it, so a filter that is falling behind gets noticed before it becomes a cloudy-water call.

Cartridge or DE, cleaned all the way through

Cartridge filters and DE filters are cleaned differently, and the job is only done when the media is actually clean, not just rinsed on the outside. Cartridge elements are taken out and cleaned so the pleats open back up. A DE filter is cleaned down through its grids so water can pass through them freely again.

The point of the work is simple: restore proper flow and filtration. A filter that passes water the way it was built to pass water gives you clearer water with less strain on the pump and motor, and that is what protects the rest of your equipment over the years.

Filter care belongs in the weekly routine

A filter cleaning on its own helps, but it helps most when somebody who knows your pool is watching it afterward. Weekly customers get the equipment inspection on every visit, along with the photo and chemical readings, so the next time flow starts to slip it shows up early and gets handled on a normal service day.

If your filter has not been touched in a while, or the water has been cloudy even though the chemistry reads fine, call Clark at (602) 316-3671. Phoenician Pool Spa Patio has been servicing West Valley pools since 2001, under ROC # 367376.
